Manual washing booth Eurotherm

Eurotherm manual washing booths

Eurotherm manual washing booths are designed to clean and prepare parts before painting, powder coating or industrial treatment. They remove grease, impurities and residues from metal components to obtain a surface ready for the next steps.

An important step before painting or powder coating

Washing is a pretreatment phase. It prepares the surface of the part before coating by combining chemical, thermal and mechanical action.

In a surface treatment line, the manual washing booth is used before powder coating, liquid painting or curing. It helps improve coating adhesion and final finish quality.

Precise manual washing for metal parts

Manual washing booths are mainly used to clean metal components or semi-finished products. The operator performs the washing process with a high-pressure cleaner, a phospho-degreasing solution and several rinsing phases.

This solution allows parts of different shapes and sizes to be treated in the same booth, with a high level of flexibility.

Possible applications:

  • Cleaning metal parts before painting

  • Degreasing industrial components

  • Preparation before powder coating

  • Treatment of semi-finished products

  • Washing parts with various shapes and dimensions

A design adapted to the workshop

Each manual washing booth can be configured according to production constraints, part dimensions, loading method and available space in the workshop.

Eurotherm booths are available with or without foundations. Depending on the project, liquids are recovered through a pit under the grating or through an above-ground structure equipped with small hoppers.

Main elements of a booth:

  • Self-supporting painted steel structure

  • Roof made of pre-insulated panels with polyurethane foam

  • Pedestrian or drive-over grating floor depending on loading needs

  • Sloped pit with recovery sump under the grating

  • Extraction wall to capture vapours and fumes

Closed-loop operation

Liquids sprayed during washing are collected in a pit, then sent back to the treatment skid. Each phase has its own dedicated tank to limit contamination between the different treatment steps.

This closed-loop operation reuses liquids and limits discharge. It reduces waste and improves control over workshop consumption.

Benefits of closed-loop operation:

  • Reuse of washing liquids

  • Less waste in the process

  • Reduced discharge to drains

  • Better separation between treatment phases

  • Simpler management of sprayed liquids

The liquid treatment skid

The skid is designed to filter and reuse the liquids sprayed inside the booth. The standard version includes three phases: degreasing, first rinse and second rinse.

Depending on requirements, other stages can be added, such as rinsing with osmosis or demineralised water, or final passivation treatment.

Possible phases:

  • Degreasing with cold phospho-degreasing solution

  • First rinse with mains water

  • Second rinse with mains water

  • Optional rinse with osmosis or demineralised water

  • Optional final passivation

Accessories according to production needs

Manual washing booths can be equipped with different accessories to improve treatment, simplify maintenance and adapt the washing process to the level of dirt on the parts.

  • Hot degreasing tank for phospho-degreasing liquids at 50/60 °C

  • Oil separator to remove oils and grease from the degreasing tank

  • System to prevent deposits from forming in the tanks

  • Dedicated tanks with recirculation pump

  • Filtration of impurities and sediments

Extraction, separation and liquid recovery

During high-pressure washing, vapours and fumes can be generated. They are captured by an extraction wall equipped with droplet separators.

Air is discharged through the extraction chimney, while the recovered liquid returns to the pit before being reintroduced into the treatment cycle.

Key benefits:

  • Capture of vapours generated during washing

  • Separation of water droplets contained in the air

  • Recovery of sprayed liquids

  • Reintroduction of liquids into the washing circuit

  • Cleaner and better controlled working environment

The washing portal for greater versatility

A suspended or floor-mounted washing portal can be integrated along the full length of the manual washing booth. This system uses nozzle ramps to wash parts with a cycle close to an automatic tunnel.

This solution is particularly suitable for batches of parts with similar sizes, such as frames, door and window profiles, sheets or repetitive components.

It keeps the flexibility of manual washing while automating the treatment of selected parts.

Benefits:

  • Manual washing of large parts

  • Automatic washing of small or medium-sized parts

  • Use of the same treatment skid

  • Versatility in a single booth

  • Solution adapted to repetitive batches

FAQ about manual washing booths

What is a manual washing booth used for?

A manual washing booth is used to clean, degrease and prepare parts before painting, powder coating or industrial treatment. It removes grease, residues and impurities.

Why use washing before painting?

Washing prepares the surface and improves coating adhesion. A properly cleaned part helps achieve a more uniform and durable finish.

How does closed-loop operation work?

Sprayed liquids are collected, filtered and reused in the washing cycle. This operation limits liquid loss and reduces discharge.

What is a washing skid?

The skid includes the tanks, pumps and filtration systems needed to treat and recirculate the liquids used in the booth.

Does Equindus support the choice of the booth?

Yes. Equindus supports professionals in choosing a manual washing booth adapted to the parts, workshop, production volume and treatment constraints.
